Valorisation News
April 2011 - Liskamp and van Delft receive NPC
Valorisation Voucher
Floris van Delft (Radboud University Nijmegen) has been awarded a Valorisation Voucher for his proposal “Clickable microarrays to profile peptide-protein and protein-protein interactions”. The aim of this project is to develop and use technology to array peptides and proteins on glass plates.
NPC project leader Rob Liskamp and Rob
Ruijtenbeek received a Valorisation Voucher for their proposal “Exploitation of
a novel strategy for detection of phosphatase activity on dynamic peptide
microarrays: a new PamChip® proteomics product”. As part of NPC project E2.3,
they recently discovered a novel and highly promising strategy for the detection
of protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) activity on dynamic peptide microarrays
(PamChips®). With the voucher they want to explore the extent of applicability
of this unprecedented approach and to develop it into a commercial
product.
June 2010 - NPC
Valorisation Voucher for Per Haberkant
A fourth NPC Valorisation Voucher has been granted to Per Haberkant (Utrecht University). Haberkant is working on the development of tools and reagents that allow the large-scale study of lipid-protein interactions in a high-throughput fashion. With the Valorisation Voucher, Haberkant will develop additional tools creating a valuable tool-set to connect proteomics and lipidomics.
June 2010 - NPC
Valorisation Voucher for Hans van Leeuwen
The NPC has
awarded the third NPC Valorisation Voucher to Prof. Hans van Leeuwen (Erasmus
MC). Prof. Van Leeuwen and his team will work on the identification and
validation of novel blood-based biomarkers. They predict an increased risk of
fractures due to bone loss or poor bone quality. Ultimately, this should lead to
the development of a diagnostic tool to identify increased risk of fractures.
This will be useful to start preventive treatment for such diseases as
osteoporosis at an early stage.
January 2010 - NPC
Valorisation Voucher for Bobby Florea
The NPC has recently awarded the second NPC Valorisation Voucher to Bobby Florea (Leiden University). Florea will launch a start-up company dedicated to providing organic synthesis of existing and custom compounds for Proteomics applications.
October 2009 - First NPC
Valorisation Voucher granted
The NPC has granted the first NPC Valorisation Voucher to Huib Ovaa (NKI, Netherlands Cancer Institute). Ovaa is planning to start a spin-off company that will perform custom synthesis of ubiquitinated peptides.
