Research programme
The proteomics research programme run by the Netherlands Proteomics Centre focuses on three areas:
Proteomics Research
Themes
The five proteomics research themes are set up in close collaboration with the NGI Genomics Centres of Excellence. The NPC focuses on the following proteomics research themes:
NPC T1: Cancer Proteomics
NPC T2: Proteome Biology of Plants
NPC
T3: Proteome Biology of Micro-organisms
NPC T4: Proteome Biology of Stem
Cells
NPC T5: Proteomics and Autoimmune Diseases
Proteomics Research Enabling
Technologies
The Enabling Technologies Programme focuses on
the development of proteomics and bioinformatics tools at the cutting edge of
proteomics research. Currently, we concentrate on the following proteomics and
bioinformatics themes:
NPC E1: New Separation and Enrichment Tools in
Proteomics
NPC E2: Chemical Approaches to Proteome Biology
NPC E3: New
Mass Spectrometric Tools in Proteomics
NPC E4: Bioinformatics in
Proteomics
NPC/NBIC Gaining Momentum at the
Proteomics-Bioinformatics Interface
The NPC has started several bioinformatics projects to produce generic tools for proteomics data storage and analysis to obtain faster and more reliable data. We do this in close co-operation with the Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre (NBIC). We are currently working on the following proteomics/bioinformatics projects:
NPC-GM WP1: Information Management and Processing Infrastructure
NPC-GM
WP2: Data Processing from Raw Data to Consistently Annotated Peak Intensity
Tables
NPC-GM WP3: Functional Annotation and Classification
