Goals
The NPC has the aim to further establish and extend its role as an internationally competitive proteomics research centre. The NPC effectively coordinates collaboration between leading Dutch research groups. Their research is focused on research themes with clearly defined technological and biological relevance. Collaborations include the NGI Centres of Excellence as preferred partners as well as international, high-quality research groups.
Leading European Expertise Centre
in Proteomics
The national proteomics research network is internationally recognised as one of the leading European expertise centres in proteomics. It is an attractive partner for academic and industrial research. Improved proteomics technologies are implemented into cutting-edge genomics and life sciences research, addressing a range of issues that are important to society and economics, including:
- disease treatment and monitoring
- industrial processing
- nutrition
- plant breeding
NPC Training Programme and Research Hotels
The NPC also offers training facilities for PhD students and research professionals. Universities participating in the NPC programme are able to incorporate state-of-the-art proteomics research strategy and techniques into their master and PhD training programmes. Also, the NPC research hotels provide excellent hands-on training facilities for PhD’s and visiting research professionals.
With its proteomics research and training programmes, the NPC significantly contributes to the development of genomics research and facilitates the valorisation of its results.
